* About XR Studios
The three studios offer a spectrum of extended reality, spatial computing and advanced media production capabilities, including virtual production, photogrammetry and 3D scanning, and motion and volumetric performance capture and rendering. The studios also house state-of-the-art sports coaching and life sciences labs.
Since August 2025, the studios have been managed by LDS and we have created a new team to bring extended reality, immersive simulations, and serious games into the curriculum, shaping next-generation experiential learning, innovative online teaching practices, new product development, and research and commercial partnerships.
The studios are shared OU infrastructure. We offer an open creative space with support for four-nation, cross-disciplinary collaboration and co-creation in learning and teaching, innovation in the student experience, pedagogical development, research, industry engagement and partnerships.
